DJI Mavic Mini 2 is the latest addition to the lightweight drones in the DJI store. Their lightweight design and more affordable pricing make them an ideal entry-level drone.
One of the common problems new users have been struggling with is how to turn off DJI Mini 2.
In this article, I am going to tell you step-by-step how to turn your DJI Mini 2 off and on.
How to turn off DJI Mini 2?
To turn OFF DJI Mini 2, follow the following two steps:
- Press the power button at the bottom of the drone once. The LEDs will start flashing.
- Press & Hold the power button again for two seconds, and the LEDs will turn off along with the drone.
Once your drone is off, you can safely remove the battery for storage or recharge.
How to turn off DJI Mini 2 remote controller?
To turn OFF DJI Mini 2 remote controller, follow the following two steps:
- Press the power button on top of the remote controller once. The LEDs will turn on to show the battery level.
- Press & Hold the power button again for two seconds, and you will hear a beep & the LEDs will start turning off from right to left, and the remote controller will turn off.
If your remote controller is low on charge, make sure you fully charge it before your next flying session.
How to turn ON DJI Mini 2?
Turning ON your DJI mini 2 is also very simple. To turn ON DJI Mini 2, follow the following two steps:
- Press the power button at the bottom of the drone once. The LEDs will turn ON.
- Press & Hold the power button again for two seconds, and the LEDs will turn off and on again with a beep sound. Your drone is not powered ON.
Once your Mini 2 turns on, put in legs down on a flat surface so that the start up process is completed.
During the startup process, you will see the motors and camera gimble making movements to calibrate.
The same process is used to turn on other DJI drones like the Mavic Air and Air 2.

How to turn on DJI Mini 2 remote controller?
To turn ON DJI Mini 2 remote controller, follow the following two steps:
- Press the power button on top of the remote controller once. The LEDs will turn on to show the battery level.
- Press & Hold the power button again for two seconds, and you will hear a beep & the LEDs will start flashing. Your remote controller is ON now.
If your drone is already turned ON, the LEDs on the remote controller will flash for some time, and when the remote controller is connected to the drone, the flashing will stop.

Most users reported that the drone or remote controller stopped turning on/off after some months of use.
This indicates a hardware problem with the button. Buttons are soldered to the PCB board, and the Mini 2 assembly line seems to have some inherent fault that ends up soldering the button insecurely.
After some time, the soldering detaches, and the button stops working.
In such a case, either reset your Mini 2 or return the drone to DJI for repair, or get it repaired from your local electronics shop.
