16 DJI Mavic 3 Accessories For Better Flying

DJI Mavic 3 is the latest flagship in the DJI store. It’s the best drone your money can get and with a few essential accessories, you can make your flying experience even better.

In this article, we are going to list 16 DJI Mavic 3 accessories that you can get to get the best out of your expensive DJI Mavic 3.

Some of the accessories are official from DJI and some are third-party compatible. I have tested these accessories with Mavic 3 so you can be sure they will work perfectly.

DJI Mavic 3 Accessories For Better Flying

1. Low Noise Propellers

If you have been flying drones before, you know they can be noisy. If you are living in a populated urban neighborhood, flying your drone can cause complaints.

Making drones completely quiet might not be possible, but you can reduce the noise by using a pair of low-noise propellers.

These propellers are designed in such a way that they produce very little noise. You can find 3rd-party propellers as well as DJI official low-noise props.

I would recommend buying the DJI official low-noise props for best performance and compatibility with your Mavic 3.

  • Longer & quieter flight.
  • Built from high quality material
  • Compatible with DJI Mavic 3 & Mavic 3 Cine

2. Additional Intelligent Flight Battery

Nothing is more frustrating than a low battery warning during your flight when you just not finished.

The standard version of Mavic 3 comes with just 1 Intelligent Flight Battery and if you are going for a long aerial shot, it might not be enough.

If you don’t want to spend a fortune on the Fly More Combo that comes with 2 extra batteries and a few other accessories, you can buy an additional Intelligent Flight Battery for your Mavic 3.

While buying a battery make sure you are getting the original DJI official Intelligent Flight Battery and not a 3rd-party one.

  • Original DJI Mavic Flight Battery
  • Provides an additional 43 min of flight
  • Provides up to 300 charge cycles

3. Battery Charging Hub

If you have the standard version of the Mavic 3 without the charging hub and later on you buy a few additional batteries, you might be stuck with charging them one at a time.

This can be troublesome at times. Especially if you are going for an early morning flight session and all your batteries are drained.

A battery charging hub can be very useful. You can put all your batteries on charge overnight and they will be full in the morning.

The battery charging hub charge the batteries in series (one at a time) starting with the highest charged one.

Although there are 3rd-party battery chargers, I would recommend sticking with the official DJI charging hub to protect your batteries from overcharge and overloads.

DJI Official

  • Charges three batteries in sequence.
  • Overcharge and overcurrent protection
  • Compatible with DJI Mavic 3 & Mavic 3 Cine

4. SD Card

The cine version of the Mavic 3 comes with a 1TB SSD storage and is enough for practical use.

However, the non-cine version just has 8GB of internal storage and you will definitely need an SD card for recording high resolution 5.1K videos.

There are some minimum requirements for SD cards to work with your Mavic 3 and not every card will be compatible. I have a detailed article about best sd cards for Mavic 3 that you can go through.

But if you are in a hurry, you can buy the Sandisk 128GB card and it will be enough for all practical day-to-day usage. Also, Sandisk is probably the most trusted brand when it comes to storage devices.

  • Rated A2 for faster loading and in app performance
  • Temperature, Water, Shock & X-Ray Proof

5. RC N1 Monitor Hood

The glaring sun and your LCD mobile screen don’t jell much. If you are flying any drone on a sunny bright day, especially at noon, you will be getting glares on your screen.

Since both your hands are going to be busy during the flight, you can’t use one hand to block the sun to see your screen properly.

A monitor hood is a very useful accessory for such occasions. You just put it atop your controller and it will block the sun rays from your screen.

I have crashed into a tree thanks to sun glares distraction and I think this is a must to have accessory in your bag for ultra sunny days.

The below one will work well with your RC N1 controller.

  • Compatible with Mavic 3 RC N-1 Controller
  • Protect your eyes from sun glares
  • Improve screen visibility
  • 3-fold design easy to carry & install

6. ND Filters

Neutral Density (ND) filters are camera accessories that will help you take long exposure shots during bright daylight.

You might have seen the long exposure shots of a night sky or cars on the road. These shots are taken during the nighttime with low shutter speed and long exposure.

But during the daytime, such shots are difficult to take because if you keep the shutter open for a longer period, you will end up with overexposure.

In such a situation, an ND filter is your best friend. It reduces the amount of light entering your camera thus making long exposure shots possible even during the day.

If you want to learn more about ND filters, you can read this ND filter guide for beginners.

DJI provides ND filters for the Mavic 3 and you can buy them in sets of 4. All ND filters are marked with an ND factor. The higher the number, the more blocking the filter is.

  • Good coverage for different light conditions.
  • High-quality light-reducing materials.
  • Precise mechanical design ensures a reliable fit and seal.

7. Wide Angle Lens

If you are a travel blogger or someone who loves taking wide-angle shots, you will really appreciate this one.

The DJI wide-angle lens for Mavic 3 increases the field of view of the Hasselblad lens to 108° from 84° with an equivalent focal length of 15.5mm.

With the wide-angle lens add-on, you can capture wide-angle dramatic nature shots or if you are shooting in an urban landscape, you can capture more in a single frame.

It is also really helpful if you are shooting in tight areas and don’t have the luxury to fly too much out to capture your area of interest.

You can get the wide-angle lens from the DJI Amazon store or directly buy it from the DJI official store. Both links are below.

  • Provides a 108° FOV and 15.5mm-equivalent focal length.
  • Perfect for wide-angle nature shots
  • Compatible with Mavic 3 & Mavic 3 Cine

8. Propeller Guards

I don’t like propeller guards as they increase the weight of the drone and consume more power.

However, if you are new to flying or flying in close quarters, you should absolutely use them.

I have my fair share of broken propeller tips by banging into walls during my early flying days. Prop guards would have saved me some money and the headache of ordering new props.

Propeller guards are very helpful in protecting your props. Consider them as your training wheel while you learn to fly on your own.

You can get both DJI official prop guards or buy 3rd-party guards. Both work the same. You can attach them to each arm and be ready to fly without worrying about deadly collisions.

  • Improve flight safety & propeller life.
  • Quick assembly and disassembly.
  • Compatible with DJI Mavic 3 & Mavic 3 Cine

9. DJI Care Refresh

DJI drones are expensive and if they get damaged, they can be heavy on your pocket. DJI Care Refresh program solves this.

The DJI Care Refresh is a 12-month service plan during which if your drone met any accident, you can get it replaced or repaired for a small amount.

The most useful part of DJI Care Refresh is the product replacement for a small fee. If you accidentally damage your drone, you can get it replaced with a new one for a very small fee.

You can claim product replacement up to 2 times during the 12-month coverage.

DJI Care Refresh also covers any other accidental repairs, water damage, or product defects. It also covers the to & from shipping if you send in a product for repair/replacement.

Do note that you have to buy the Care Refresh program within 48 hours of your product activation. After that, you can not buy it anymore.

The standard DJI Care Refresh is for a 1-year duration. The extended Care Refresh Plus program provides 2-year coverage.

10. Carrying Bag / Hard Case

If you constantly move around with your drone, a suitable carrying bag or hard case becomes pretty much a necessity.

I personally prefer a backpack when going on a day-long flight shot as it is easier to carry. But on long travels especially on bouncy mountainous roads, I would definitely go for a hard case.

Hard cases provide better protection with padded foam inserts and are waterproof and dustproof. You can find a lot of third-party carrying bags and hard cases. Below is my favorite one from NANUK.

3rd Party Compatible
Nanuk 925 Hard Case For Mavic 3 FMC
  • Maximum protection case with foam cut insert.
  • Power claw latching system with slide locks.
  • Waterproof IP67
  • Marine-grade 304 stainless steel hardware
  • Durable & long-lasting

11. 65W Car Charger

Having a fast car charger is a blessing not only for your mobile devices but for your drone as well.

If you move around a lot between locations and want to charge your Mavic 3 batteries before your next flight, a 65W fast car charger is what you need.

DJI provides its own official car charger for the Mavic 3. You can also find third-party chargers but I would highly recommend sticking with the official DJI one.

  • Stable 65W output with two output ports, USB-C and USB-A
  • Can charge the battery & the remote control together.
  • Can also charge your mobile phones & tablets.
  • High-quality build & design.

12. Landing Pad

Landing pads are small circular or square pieces of cut nylon sheet that you can use to take off and land your drone in any terrain.

Landing pads are great if you are going to take off or land on sandy terrains like a dry beach or desert.

It not only protects your drone from taking in the dirt (sand can damage your motors and you will have to clean them) but also gives you a visual indication of the landing zone.

There are a lot of good third-party landing pads available in the market. I would recommend the one below from VCUTECH. It’s 25-inch x 25-inch (65x65cm) in size and great for your Mavic 3.

3rd Party Compatible
VCUTECH Mavic 3 Landing Pad
  • Universal Drone Landing Pad compatible with Mavic 3
  • Premium Waterproof Material
  • Portable and Versatile 25-inch x 25-inch (65x65cm) size
  • Perfect add-on for flying on beaches and dry deserts

13. Strobe Light

A new FAA law enacted in April 2021 requires all drones to have anti-collision lights on them if they are flying at night.

Previously. you needed a special waiver to fly after dusk but the new law allows all flyers to fly at night with some prerequisites.

One of them is having an anti-collision light that can be seen from 3 miles away.

Your Mavic 3 does not have any such anti-collision light so you will have to install an after-market one.

Lume Cube makes small FAA compliant lights that can be installed on any drone including your Mavic 3.

3rd Party Compatible
Lume Cube Drone Strobe, Anti-Collision Lighting for Drone
  • Compatible with DJI Mavic 3
  • Meets Federal Regulations 360º & 3+ mile visibility
  • Bright White Light with additional Red & Green Caps
  • Very lightweight
  • 3 Different Modes - Fast Mode, Slow Mode, and Continuous Light

14. Storage Cover

The official DJI storage cover is great if you don’t want to carry a big backpack or hard carrying case around.

It covers the sensitive gimbal completely and straps around the propellers tightly tugging them in so they don’t break.

Once covered and the elastic strap closed on itself, you can toss your drone in your normal backpack and carry it around safely.

You can buy the storage cover from DJI’s official Amazon store or order it from DJI website (shipped from China)

  • DJI Official accessory
  • Protect sensitive Gimbal & propellers.
  • Compatible with DJI Mavic 3 & DJI Mavic 3 Cine

15. DJI RC Pro

DJI RC Pro is definitely not a cheap add-on. It’s an expensive accessory that replaces the normal RC-N1 controller and your smartphone.

It’s one of the few remote controllers with integrated screens. It comes with an HD bright LCD display, a high-performance processor preinstalled with the DJI Fly app ready to go.

The RC Pro replaces your smartphone completely so you can leave your phone at home or in your backpack during your flight session.

Connecting your phone to a normal controller is a messy job and as a fan of minimalist solutions, I have always hated it. In all fairness, it’s a hack but the drone community has accepted it because it saves a lot of money.

With the RC Pro, you get everything nicely integrated inside the controller body. No need for a third-party add-on phone to make things work.

The Mavic 3 Cine comes with RC Pro but if you have the non-cine version, you can also buy the RC Pro separately. It also works with other compatible DJI drones like the Air 2s.

  • High-bright display, powerful performance & efficient control
  • 3 hours long battery time.
  • Compatible with DJI Mavic 3, DJI Mavic 3 Cine, DJI Air 2S

16. Tablet Holder for RC-N1

Flying your Mavic 3 on a bigger tablet screen always feels good. The bigger screen has much more to offer in terms of FPV.

A good tablet like an iPad or Samsung S7 FE has a much brighter and bigger screen and is fun to fly with.

But bigger screens come in bigger sizes and are much heavier. You have to buy special tablet mounts to hold a 12.4-inch screen in place.

The DJI official tablet holder does a pretty good job and is compatible with most screen sizes. You can also get third-party tablet holders (click the Walmart button below)

  • DJI official add-on
  • Works with Mavic 3 RC-N1 controller
  • Great for holding variable size tablets
  • Made from high-quality durable plastic

I hope you enjoyed this rather long article. If you have any other Mavic 3 accessories in mind, please mention them in the comments below for other Mavic 3 fans to find.
